Ajiivla has no memory of her home world or family, but the Jedi records claim she was taken from the planet Hallomar when she was only a year old. The records contain no further information, only her date of birth. Ajiivla considers Coruscant and the Jedi Temple her home, and the other Jedi her family, because it is all she has ever known. She led a happy childhood under the guidance of the great Jedi masters and excelled in meditation and the calmer forms of Force usage. It became clear quite early on that she was not fit for becoming a great warrior like most Jedi aspired to be, so the Jedi Masters turned her attention to healing. By the age of ten, Ajiivla could already perform minor healing techniques and was progressing well in the construction of lightsabers.

Her early teens were tough for the young girl though, as she began to deal with the concept of the lonely life Jedi lived and began accepting that her peers were moving off on adventures as Padawans of Jedi Knights while she was to stay at the Temple. Ajiivla did come into her own under the guidance of the great healers at the temple, and felt at home with her new teachers. By the time she turned fifteen she was well on her way to joining the ranks of the Jedi healers at the temple, while still practicing her combat techniques in Form VI to stay on top of her game. At seventeen she left Coruscant for the first time with a convoy of Jedi Knights to learn more about healing in the field. During this trip she defended herself for the first time outside of the Temple which proved to be a great learning experience because Ajiivla had never been in true danger while sparring in the Temple. She completed her training a few days before her 22nd birthday and was accepted as a Jedi Healer.
